Forecast Discussion for Week of 12/10-12/17
December 10th, 2009 at 04:20 PM

No severe weather expected during the coming week, but a couple of chances for rain and maybe thunderstorms.

First, a coastal low will likely develop near Corpus Christi and bring onshore winds and rain Friday afternoon through Saturday morning before moving off to the east.  Precip will probably be lighter to the southwest and heavier toward Houston, Beaumont, and the state line.

Second, a pretty strong cold front is currently progged to move through the region next Monday/Tuesday and models are predicting some moisture pooling ahead of the front, though it may not amount to much in the way of rain.

Forecasts will resume in January.  In the meantime, cold weather is already here, so stay warm and have a happy holiday season!
